Girl Scout Day Camp
Where adventure awaits...
At Valley Adventures Girl Scout Day Camp, our mission is to empower girls with the tools, skills, and confidence to become leaders of tomorrow. We foster a spirit of sisterhood, where girls support and uplift each other, forming lifelong friendships that extend beyond the campfire. Our camp is a place where teamwork is celebrated, where girls work together to overcome challenges, and where they discover the strength that comes from collaboration. By instilling these values, we aim to create a camp experience that not only creates lasting memories but also equips girls with the leadership qualities, lifelong bonds, and a strong commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law that will shape their future.
Who We Are
Valley Adventures Girl Scout Day Camp is a Girl Scout camp open to all currently registered Girl Scouts entering grades 1 through 12. Our camp is proudly operated by dedicated and trained Girl Scout volunteers, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for every camper. The heart of our camp is led by our Caddies—Girl Scouts in grades 7-12 (Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors)—who take on leadership roles in running camp activities, guided and supported by adult volunteers.

Camp takes place for one week each summer, running Monday through Wednesday, 9am - 4pm, and Thursday 9am through an overnight stay that concludes on Friday morning. We primarily serve Girl Scout troops and Juliettes from the Apple Valley, Rosemount, and Eagan communities.

Our camp is held at the beautiful Camp Sacajawea in Apple Valley, MN, where campers have the opportunity to explore the outdoors, build leadership skills, and make lasting memories.

What We Do
Girl Led
We keep camp girl-led by empowering Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts (grades 7-12) to serve as inspiring Camp Caddies. These exceptional young leaders play a pivotal role in fostering a Girl-led environment by guiding younger campers through exciting activities and crafts while exemplifying leadership and mentorship. With the support and supervision of our dedicated registered Girl Scout volunteers, Camp Caddies enjoy a nurturing leadership experience that balances the joys and challenges of guiding others in a safe and supportive environment. This approach not only allows every camper to experience the benefits of mentorship but also helps our Caddies develop valuable leadership skills, flourish in their roles, and create lasting memories for themselves and the campers they inspire.
Embracing the Outdoors
At camp, we embrace the joy of the outdoors, offering girls the opportunity to connect with nature and develop lifelong skills. Campers enjoy plenty of time to explore the outdoors on their own terms—whether it’s hiking through the woods, observing wildlife, or simply relaxing in the shade of a tree. Girls also participate in structured crafts, activities, and Girl Scout traditions, such as fire building, cooking meals over a campfire and learning outdoor safety. Every experience is designed to inspire self-confidence, teamwork, and a sense of adventure. These hands-on activities, combined with unstructured time to play and explore, create lasting memories, instill a deep appreciation for the natural world, and provide girls with the perfect blend of freedom and guidance in a supportive environment.
Girl Scout Values
At Valley Adventures Day Camp, girls experience the true spirit of Girl Scouting through time-honored traditions and practicing the Girl Scout Law in daily activities. These experiences instill respect, responsibility, and a commitment to community. We are proud to be a Girl Scout-approved camp through the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys (GSRV). As an approved camp, we embrace the core values of Girl Scouts, offering a range of activities and programs that align with the Girl Scout mission: building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Our volunteers are all registered Girl Scout volunteers who model the Girl Scout Promise and Law in everything they do. We follow all safety guidelines and requirements set forth by GSRV, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for every camper.
Building Sisterhood
At Valley Adventures Day Camp, we prioritize building lasting sisterhoods among Girl Scouts—both with old friends and new. Campers immerse themselves in time-honored Girl Scout traditions like flag ceremonies, creating SWAPS (Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere), and singing beloved Girl Scout songs. Guided by seasoned Girl Scouts who serve as role models and mentors, younger campers learn valuable leadership skills and gain a firsthand look at what it means to embody the Girl Scout spirit. Campers are thoughtfully placed in mixed camp units, blending Scouts from their own troop with those from other troops. This approach encourages them to expand their horizons, form new connections, and develop essential skills like teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of belonging in the wider Girl Scout community.
Inclusivity at Valley Adventures Day Camp
At Valley Adventures Day Camp, we are committed to ensuring that every Girl Scout feels welcomed, safe, and valued. Our camp is a place for Girls of all backgrounds to explore their potential, build friendships, and develop leadership skills in a supportive environment.
Girl Scouts has always been a movement for all Girls, inspired by our founder Juliette Gordon Low’s vision of inclusivity. For over 100 years, Girl Scouts has embraced Girls from every ability, age, culture, education, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status; and we continue that legacy today.
Our volunteers are dedicated to making sure every Girl Scout can fully participate in camp activities.
